Two Kinds of Intelligence

There are two kinds of intelligence:
one acquired, as a child in school memorizes facts and conceptsfrom books and from what the teacher says, collecting information from the traditional sciences as well as from the new sciences.
With such intelligence you rise in the world. You get ranked ahead or behind others in regard to your competence in retaining information. You stroll with this intelligence in and out of fields of knowledge, getting always moremarks on your preserving tablets.
There is another kind of tablet, one already completed and preserved inside you. A spring overflowing its spring box. A freshness in the center of the chest. This other intelligence does not turn yellow or stagnate. It's fluid, and it doesn't move from outside to inside through the conduits of plumbing-learning.
This second knowing is a fountain head from within you, moving out.

Gone Too Soon by Michael Jackson

Like A Comet
Blazing 'Cross The Evening Sky
Gone Too Soon

Like A Rainbow
Fading In The Twinkling Of An Eye
Gone Too Soon

Shiny And Sparkly
And Splendidly Bright
Here One Day
Gone One Night

Like The Loss Of Sunlight
On A Cloudy Afternoon
Gone Too Soon

Like A Castle
Built Upon A Sandy Beach
Gone Too Soon

Like A Perfect Flower
That Is Just Beyond Your Reach
Gone Too Soon

Born To Amuse, To Inspire, To Delight
Here One Day
Gone One Night

Like A Sunset
Dying With The Rising Of The Moon
Gone Too Soon

Gone Too Soon

Maybe

Maybe. . we were supposed to meet the wrong people before meeting the right one so that, when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift.
Maybe . . . when the door of happiness closes, another opens; but, often times, we look so long at the closed door that we don't even see the new one which has been opened for us.
Maybe . . . it is true that we don't know what we have until we lose it, but it is also true that we don't know what we have been missing until it arrives.
Maybe . . . the happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.
Maybe . . . the brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; after all, you can't go on successfully in life until you let go of your past mistakes, failures and heartaches.
Maybe . . . you should dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go, be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you dream of, and want to do.
Maybe . . . there are moments in life when you miss someone -- a parent, a spouse, a friend, a child -- so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real, so that once they are around you appreciate them more.
Maybe . . . the best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.
Maybe . . you should always try to put yourself in others' shoes. If you feel that something could hurt you, it probably will hurt the other person, too.
Maybe . . you should do something nice for someone every single day, even if it is simply to leave them alone.
Maybe.. giving someone all your loveis never an assurance that they willlove you back. Don't expect love in return; just wait for it to grow in their heart; but, if it doesn't, be content that it grew in yours.
Maybe . . . happiness waits for all those who cry, all those who hurt, all those who have searched, and all those who have tried, for only they can appreciate the importance of all the people who have touched their lives.
Maybe . . . you shouldn't go forlooks; they can deceive; don't go forwealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile, because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile.
Maybe . . you should hope for enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, and enough hope to make you happy
Maybe . . . you should try to live your life to the fullest because when you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling but when you die, you can be the one who is smiling and everyone around you crying.
Maybe . . . you could send this message to those people who mean something to you, to those who have touched yourlife, to those who can and do make you smile when you really need it, to those who make you see the brighter side of things when you are really down, and to all those whom you want to know that you appreciate them and their friendship.
And if you don't, don't worry; nothing bad will happen to you. You will just miss out on the opportunity to perhaps brighten someone's day.

I Wanted

I wanted to pick you a flower, but I couldn't find one pretty enough.

I wanted to sing you a song but, I couldn't sing one good enough.

I wanted to buy you some chocolate, but I couldn't find any sweet enough.

I wanted to buy you the world, but I'm just not rich enough.

I wanted to tell you how I feel, but I just wasn't loud enough.

I wanted to make you laugh, but I just wasn't funny enough.

I wanted to give you a kiss, but I just wasn't close enough.

I wanted to give you the moon and the stars, but I'm just not tall enough.

I wanted to write you a poem.....so Idid.

Because We Believe

Once in every life
There comes a time
We walk out all alone
And into the light

The moment won’t last but then,
We remember it again
When we close our eyes.

Like stars across the sky

We were born to shine
All of us here because we believe

Don't Quit

Don't quit when the tide is lowest,
For it is just about to turn;

Don't quit over doubts and questions,
For there's something you may learn.

Don't quit when the night is darkest,
For it's just a while 'til dawn;

Don't quit when you've run the farthest,
For the race is almost won.

Don't quit when the hill is steepest,
For your goal is almost nigh;

Don't quit, for you're not a failure until you fail to try.

Friends Forever

When we first met you were annoying.
Who knew we would become the bestest of friends.

Talking on the phone. Chatting on the net.
Every minute thanking God that we met.

My heart grew for you. It begged.
It pleaded for your love, not knowing how to tell you.

Two years later we met in person.
My heart leaped for joy.

For the life of me I couldn't remember my name.
I totally forgot how to speak.

I sat there and watched your every move.
My heart melting with every smile.

"Do you believe in love at first sight?" you asked
"I don't believe in love," I lied

When I had to leave my heart fell to the floor.
Why did I have to leave so soon?

So I could return later that year.
To see your smiling face and maybe express what I feel.

The truth is I do believe in love.
I believed in it the moment I saw you.

Now as you read this poem you probably have mixed feelings.

Not only did I write this to say I love you
But to thank you.

I need to thank you for being there through thick and thin. And I think
that is why you are my best friend.

From my heart to yours I want to say,

Thank you and I love you.
